Camp Axios is a non-denominational camping program for inner city, at risk, children. AXIOS is a Greek
word meaning worthy. Every child regardless of economics, race, religion or ethnicity, is worthy to have
a chance at a successful and wholesome life. All are worthy of love, hope, attention, and an environment
free from drugs, gangs, and crime.
The camp offers a week full of activities and guest speakers. The children will not only leave camp with
memories of swimming, arts and crafts, hiking, campfires, and sporting events, they leave with the necessary
tools to face their challenges and the potential for making better choices in their lives. Our motto that
"Five days can make a difference in a child's life" has fueled our continued commitment to provide a meaningful
and motivating week of camp. The success of our program has been reinforced each year, as we see many of our
campers improve in school, strengthen family ties, and become involved in worthwhile community projects.
